Cape Town – One person has bagged the R28 219 392.25 in the Lotto Plus 1 jackpot from the October 19 draw.
The player reportedly played using the First National Bank app, IOL reported.
The report said that although players who played and won via a banking app were first notified of their winnings by their banks, Ithuba had urged the winner to proceed to the nearest Ithuba regional office to process their claim.
According to Ithuba, the winner will then receive their winnings tax-free in 48 to 72 hours.
Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza said a team of financial advisors was on standby to offer advice on investment opportunites.
“The player will also be offered trauma counselling by a team of psychologists,” the report quoted Mabuza.
Last month a Cape Town man became an instant multimillionaire after coming forward to claim his R86 million Lotto jackpot winnings.
The winning ticket was reportedly bought at a Shoprite Checkers in Durbanville and played on draw number 2261 on Saturday, September 3.
The man, who worked as a street vendor, won R86 938 411 64 lotto jackpot.
