Cape Town – A Durban doctor remains in hospital after surviving a shooting outside his practise on Tuesday afternoon, reports said.
Reports said the doctor sustained several gun shot wounds during the incident that happened on Randles Road, in Sydenham.
“Doctor shot and wounded outside his practice: Sydenham, Durban. Shot several times. He is critical condition. Motive unclear,” said Yusuf Abramjee on Twitter.
The doctor was allegedly walking to his car when two armed men opened fire on him before fleeing the scene in a VW Polo, reported IOL.

The report alleged that the car had been parked at the scene for some time prior to the shooting.
The doctor sustained at least seven gunshot wounds. He was admitted to ICU and is in a stable condition, the report said.
The motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
