Cape Town – A 45-year-old KwaZulu-Natal mother of a four-year-old toddler was arrested after she allegedly drowned her in a bucket, saying she was “difficult and troubling her”.
In a statement, police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said that Umhlali police on Tuesday received a complaint of a four-year-old toddler that died in one of the residence in Ballito.
“Police proceeded to the said address and upon arrival the police met the mother of the child who stated that her child was difficult and troubling her and she decided to drown the child in a bucket full of water until she stopped moving.

“The child’s both hands were also tied with a tape. The little girl was certified dead at the scene,” said Ngcobo
The mother was placed under arrest and was charged with murder.
She was expected to appear in the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
