Cape Town – South African Police Services (SAPS) has confirmed that its members from various specialised units and the City of Cape Town’s law enforcement officials were able to locate the recently kidnapped 8-year-old, Abirah Dekhtar to a shack in Town Two, Khayelitsha on Monday evening.
Abirah Dekhta, 8, was reportedly snatched at Amber court, while being transported to school after the driver of her lift club was held up by armed men on Friday, November 04.
According to SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, Abirah was sent to a doctor for medical assessment while investigations will continue.

“The intelligence-led integrated operation saw forces descending on the township where the young girl was found. She has since been sent to a doctor for a medical assessment.
“Meanwhile investigations into the crime of kidnapping continue with police detectives currently questioning several individuals with a view to apprehending the perpetrators of the crime,” he said.
According to SAPS, Abirah will be united with her family after the medical assessment has been finalised.
Reports suggest that Abirah is the daughter of businessman Aslam Dekhta and his wife, Salama of Rylands, who are originally from India and have been living in the country for more than 10 years.
