Cape Town – Quick action by Krugersdorp Vispol members led to the rescue of an alleged kidnapping victim and the arrest of three suspects on 1 October 2024.
According to reports, two Sergeants were returning from Leratong Hospital when they spotted a suspicious vehicle.
Upon attempting to stop the car, one of the occupants pointed a firearm at the officers, prompting them to fire in return.
The suspects then stopped their vehicle.

“When searched, the police found two suspects and one man with his hands tied to the back. It was later established that the victim was hijacked and kidnapped in the morning at Centurion.
“Preliminary investigation led the police to the third suspect in Naledi who was found in possession of the victim’s hijacked bakkie,” police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said.
All three suspects were arrested and are facing charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, hijacking, and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
They are expected to appear in court soon.
The victim was safely rescued.
