Cape Town – Former president Kgalema Motlanthe’s son, Kgomotso was reportedly arrested after allegedly assaulting his wife Nono Motlanthe on Monday.
According to City Press, the two had an altercation that turned physical in their matrimonial home in Midrand.
Kgomotso allegedly slapped his wife several times and threw a cup at her, just missing her face.
She reported the matter to the police.

“She reported the matter at about 19:45 on Monday. She seemed to have a mark on the right side of her face. She also told the police that this was not the first time [he had allegedly beaten her], but she never reported the other incident to police,” the report quoted National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane as saying.
Kgomotso was released on R1 000 bail after a brief appearance at the Midrand Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, said the report.
The case was postponed to later this month for further investigations.
The two have been separated for over two years but still lived in the same house. They slept in separate rooms, the report said.
