Cape Town – The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) will begin interviews on Monday, despite attempts by the Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party to stop the process.
The MK Party sought to postpone the interviews while appealing a ruling that prevented impeached judge John Hlophe from participating.
Two weeks of Judicial Service Commission (JSC) interviews commence today.
The JSC will interview 54 candidates for various judicial posts with 3 Supreme Court of Appeal judgeships up for grabs.

Their attempt to halt the interviews failed in court, clearing the way for 54 candidates to be interviewed over two weeks for positions in various courts, including the Supreme Court, Land Court, and Labour Courts.
According to EWN, no candidates were shortlisted for the Constitutional Court due to a lack of nominations. Six judges will be interviewed on Monday for three vacancies in the Supreme Court of Appeal.
