Cape Town – South Africans have reacted to having no power outages for 24 hours on Sunday, with some predicting that load shedding will be back to “normal” by mid-week.
This after Eskom suspended load shedding over the weekend but returned at stage 1 on Monday.
“Stage 1 load shedding will be implemented from 05:00 until 16:00 on Monday,” the power utility said.
Stage 2 will then be implemented from 16:00 on Monday until 05:00 on Tuesday.
“Load-shedding will be again suspended from 5am until 4pm on Tuesday. Stage 2 will be implemented from 4pm on Tuesday until 4pm on Wednesday.”

The suspended power outages came a day before the EFF’s planned national shutdown which demands an immediate end to load shedding and the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The party warned businesses to close on the day to avoid looting and claimed the country’s economy would be brought to a “standstill”.
So far police have made over 70 arrests, with several protests having erupted in various parts of the country.
South Africans took to social media to celebrate the load shedding relief, with some questioning the timing while others predicted load shedding will be back to stage 4 by mid-week.
Last week Mzansi experienced a steady decrease in load shedding stages, as Eskom said that there had been improvements in the generation capacity.

We are all watching the 8pm movies tonight. Thank you @EFFSouthAfrica and @Julius_S_Malema for making this possible. Please announce date for April to ensure a stable supply of electricity.
