Cape Town – A 46-year-old alleged Israeli gang leader who has been on Interpol’s Red Notice since 2015 was arrested on Thursday morning in Bryanston, Johannesburg.
The alleged gang leader is attached to a criminal organisation in Israel called the “Abergil Organisation”.
He was arrested during a raid conducted by a multidisciplinary team led by Interpol South Africa, police crime unit, crime intelligence and the special task force on the upmarket property in Bryanston, police said in a statement.
The wanted fugitive was arrested along with seven others who were at the house, said police spokesperson Colonel Athlenda Mathe.
Mathe said the man is a wanted suspect in Israel for conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder.
