Cape Town – The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) is reportedly investigating following the murder of a bouncer and assault of a woman by a police officer at a local pub in Gauteng.
Reports alleged that the irate officer assaulted his ex-girlfriend at the pub and fought with the bouncers when they intervened.
According to Ipid spokesperson, Lizzy Suping the officer who was a sergeant allegedly bumped into his ex-girlfriend and had an altercation which led to him assaulting the woman, reported IOL.
The report said the bouncers at the establishment intervened.

“The police officer continued to fight the bouncers. He went outside, came back with a firearm and started shooting randomly in the direction of the bouncers,” the report quoted Suping as saying.
News24 reported that one bouncer died on arrival at the hospital while another sustained a gunshot wound to the knee.
The report alleged that the officer fled the scene.
“After the shooting, the officer fled the scene and was later found hiding in a shack three houses from his residence,” Suping as said, according to the report.
