Cape Town – A police officer, Warrant Officer Dalmain Morris, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Westbury, Johannesburg, while investigating a murder case.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening when suspects in a white Renault Clio opened fire.

“He was investigating a murder case when he was shot by suspects driving a white Renault Clio. He was attached to the SAPS Anti-Gang Unit,” police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said.
During the shooting, a witness and a bystander were also hit by gunfire and were subsequently hospitalised, Times Live reported.
This attack comes in the wake of increased police deployment to the area due to a recent surge in killings, particularly in gang-infested regions.
