Cape Town — The family of Jacob Petros Seakamela, the victim of alleged insurance killer Rachel Kutumela, has lamented how he was killed.
According to Jane Seakamela, Jacob’s sister, her brother was found dead on 14 September 2022 outside and was dumped next to a rubbish bin outside OR Mabotja Secondary School, The Citizen reported.
The night before his death, Jacob’s younger brother received a call that a police van had parked outside Jacob’s house and a man and woman identified themselves as police. They entered his house and accused him of theft. The person who had told Jacob’s brother reported that Jacob was taken by force.
“At the time, there was nothing that pointed to murder. He was still the same person, only releasing water through his nose,” an angry Jane said.
It is alleged that Kutumela went to the family’s home during the funeral arrangements, along with a woman who identified herself as Jacob’s child’s mother. The woman informed the family that she had taken out a funeral cover while Jacob was still alive. That was the first interaction between Kutumela and the family.
