Cape Town – Impeached Public Protector Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane has announced her membership in the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and expressed her alignment with the party’s seven cardinal pillars.
Mkhwebane, who was recently removed from her position due to findings of incompetence and misconduct, made the announcement alongside other EFF members on Monday.

She clarified that she was not previously affiliated with the African National Congress (ANC) and said that her decision was not driven by disgruntlement with the ANC or the Democratic Alliance (DA).

Mkhwebane emphasized her belief in the EFF’s principles, particularly their stance on land expropriation without compensation and the importance of the state owning economic structures and providing free education.
She declared her commitment to working for the betterment of the poor and marginalised in her new political home, the EFF.
