Cape Town – The IEC has assured that it would be almost impossible to rig the May 29 elections, emphasising robust security measures.
IEC chairperson Mosotho Moepya highlighted the absence of loopholes and the role of the voter management device (VMD) in preventing fraud and verifying workers.
“We have not found a way to open a loophole for that to happen. If we are looking for one, the purpose is to close it,” he said.
“Here, within the walls of this building, this place, which will affectionately get to be known as the ROC, South Africa’s commitment to free and fair elections will find its profound stronghold” – IEC chairperson Mosotho Moepya.#Newzroom405 pic.twitter.com/ztNzmpXCSk
