Cape Town – At least 28 people were killed in a bus accident on the N2 between East London and Butterworth on Monday afternoon, reports say.
According to News24, the bus driver, who was among the dead, was believed to have lost control, causing the bus to veer off the road and plunge 200 metres down a steep embankment.
The accident took place at Kei Cuttings, a few kilometers from the Kei Bridge.
The mountain pass with curves is notorious for accidents.
A Times Live report said that three children, 20 women, and five men, including the driver, were killed.
