Cape Town – The family of murdered Hillary Gardee has reportedly filed an urgent application to the Pretoria High Court, requesting the murder case docket to be transferred to the Hawks.
The family made the application on Tuesday to compel the police “to do the work and bring all culprits to book” for Hillary’s kidnapping, robbery and murder.
Hillary’s father, Godrich Gardee claimed recently that he had shared with the police a video of suspects withdrawing money from his daughter account but no arrests had been made.
In a family statement, shared by Godrich on his Twitter, the family said they had made numerous efforts to help the police but in vain due to a number of reasons, including the “dismal failure by the Detective Unit of the SAPS.

They added that delaying any further arrests in the case could compromise the evidence.
“Now that the prosecution has announced additional charges of conspiracy to commit murder, the case assumes all the hallmarks of an organised crime, for which investigations reside in the competency of the Hawks,” said the family.
The family said that their legal team intended to apply for an in-camera hearing due to the “sensitive evidence alluded to in the papers”.
Hillary went missing on April 29 after a shopping trip to a Spar near her home in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
She was found dead in a field outside Mbombela, Mpumalanga on May 3 with a gun wound on her head.
Suspects Sipho Lawrence Mkatshwa, Philemon Lukhele and Mduzuzi Gama were arrested and charged with murder, rape, conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping and possession of illegal firearms.
