Cape Town – Monday morning proved to be nightmarish for motorists commuting on the N1 South between the N4 off-ramp and Lynwood Road in Pretoria after two trucks collided and caught alight, causing significant road closure.
TimesLIVE reports that Tshwane Emergency Services spokesperson Charles Mabaso said that the incident took place around 2 am when truck drove into the back of the other truck.

The Citizen reported that suspected hazardous material had been identified on the scene.
“A hazardous material company contracted to Sanral was then dispatched to monitor the situation as well as commence with the cleaning and containment of the hazardous material. One person was treated on the scene and transported to Steve Biko Academic Hospital.” Mabaso was quoted as saying.
