Cape Town – A waitress at Wimpy Mayville Mall, Pretoria, has been hailed a hero after he saved the life of a child who was choking at the restaurant on Wednesday.
Reports said Olga Fakude, 53, rushed to the child’s aid when she noticed the child choking just after having breakfast.
Fakude, who undertook a first aid course years ago, sprang into action and started doing abdominal thrusts, which enabled the child to cough up the lodged food, GoodThingsGuy reported.
The report said within seconds, the child started breathing normally again to the relief of her parents.
