Cape Town – The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall across eastern parts of South Africa over the next week, with predicted accumulations of 70–150 mm in areas such as Gauteng, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State, Limpopo, and North West.
“Eastern South Africa is expected to experience increased rainfall over the next week, with numerical models predicting between 70 – 150 mm of accumulated rainfall in parts of Gauteng, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, the eastern Free State, eastern parts of North West, and the western and southern areas of Limpopo,” SAWS said on Tuesday.

This raises the risk of localised flooding, hail, and damaging winds.
