Cape Town – A Midrand businessman, Kevin Soal, 68, was reportedly killed after he was reported missing earlier this week.
Reports indicated that Soal was found to have been shot, execution-style, in Olifantsfontei, Gauteng, just hours before he was found.
According to News24, he was allegedly kidnapped from his home near the Grand Central Airport in Midrand, around noon on Wednesday.
According to a private investigator, Mike Bolhuis, mandated by Soal’s family to work on the case, the businessman’s white Mercedes Benz vehicle was found in Tembisa, at a tavern called Mike’s Place, at approximately 16:00, the report said.
“An hour later, his cellphone was found in the industrial area of Clayville. Later that evening, young soccer players heard gunshots and contacted the SAPS. At around 18:15, a body was found near Olifantsfontein and later identified as that of Soal,” the report quoted Bolhuis as saying.

A specialist task team headed by investigator Phil Vermeulen and was put together by Bolhuis, Soal owned a property in Glen Austin, near Grand Central Airport, where he had an eviction order issued on the tenant, Times Live reported.
“We know Kevin was taken to a secluded spot and forced down on his knees. Then he was kicked in the back and shot twice in the head.
“We are still busy with investigations and I don’t want to say how far we are. But we are following up a lot of information. At this stage we only know about the money that was transferred, but we are following up on other possible motives too,” the report quoted Bolhuis as saying.

The South African reported that Soal was taken to a secluded area, where he was forced to stand on his knees facing forward, kicked to fall face down, and shot two times in his head – execution style.
“While being held captive, the perpetrators transferred R250 000.00 plus another R100 000.00 from his account,” the report said.
Reports indicated that a R50 000 reward had since been issued, by the private investigator, for information that can lead to the arrest, prosecution and sentencing of the culprits responsible for Soal’s killing.
