Cape Town – Limpopo police have arrested a 22-year-old man for the gruesome murder of his 2-year-old son in Shongoane village, Villa Nora, on Sunday morning.
The child’s mutilated body was discovered on a bed in the suspect’s home, sparking shock and outrage in the community.
According to Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, police were alerted to the horrific scene by concerned community members around 06:00.
“Upon arrival, they found the child’s mutilated body on a bed, and the 22-year-old suspect, who was in possession of some of the victim’s body parts, was arrested and charged with murder.
“This senseless killing has left many in shock, and the motive behind it is still unknown. However, ritual killing cannot be ruled out,” Ledwaba said.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are exploring all leads to understand the reason behind this disturbing crime.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Phalala Magistrate’s Court soon, where he will face charges of murder.
