Cape Town – One of the survivors of the Orange Farm mass shooting, Lauren Maisha, has reportedly shared the harrowing details of the tragedy.
According to EWN, Lauren’s sister, Nomsa, was one of the victims who pleaded for her life during the incident.
Nomsa begged the tavern owner, who was at the centre of the conflict, to spare her and her children, but he shot her regardless, the report said.
“Nomsa was there in the crossfire, she screamed, begging the tavern owner to spare her life, but he shot her mercilessly,” the report quoted Lauren as saying.

Two survivors, including a one-year-old boy, are still fighting for their lives in the hospital.
Despite the trauma and loss, Lauren and the community are left devastated, as the shooting claimed seven lives and left families struggling for justice and closure.
In a statement, the police said the shooting occurred after a man had gone to a local tavern and, finding it closed, had an altercation with the tavern owner, who then followed him home.
According to authorities the tavern owner entered the home of the man and “opened fire at the family members” who had been gathered to celebrate a dowry ceremony.
“The suspect then drove back home… where he allegedly shot himself. He was rushed to the hospital but he died on arrival” police said.
