Cape Town – A 39-year-old man is in critical condition after an argument in Sundumbili, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), escalated, resulting in the victim being shot in both legs by the alleged perpetrator, who retrieved a rifle from his car.
The victim, an employee at a Sundumbili supermarket, sustained severe injuries with multiple fractures.
Paramedics stabilised him, and he was transported to the hospital.
“Reports from the scene indicate that the employee got into an altercation with a customer who then went to his vehicle and retrieved a rifle. The customer then proceeded to shoot the employee in both legs.
“The employee has sustained critical injuries and after being stabilised on scene by IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support has been transported to an appropriate facility for further care,” IPSS Medical Rescue said in a statement.
The shooter is currently at large, and the Sundumbili police is investigating the incident.
