Cape Town – A 61-year-old woman, Mmatiro Clementine Dithato, and her 5-year-old granddaughter were reportedly found gruesomely murdered at their home in Ganalaagte near Delareyville, North West over the weekend.
According to News24, prior to the heinous murder, Dithato had a phone conversation with her 21-year-old son, whom she instructed to come to her house to fetch money.
However, upon his arrival at his mother’s house at around 21:22, he discovered that the lounge window had been broken.
When he entered, he allegedly found his mother’s lifeless body with multiple stab wounds and a rope around her neck.
The 5-year-old girl’s body, on the other hand, was found drowned headfirst in a big bucket full of water in the kitchen.

“The son called for help, and the deceased’s bodies were transported to a local clinic, where they were both declared dead on arrival,” the report quoted police spokesperson captain Sam Tselanyane as saying.
The motive for the attack remained unknown, and no arrests have been made, IOL reported
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, condemned in the strongest possible terms the gruesome murders.
Investigation into the matter is under way, with police requesting anyone who may have information regarding the incident, to contact them
“Anonymous tip-offs can also be communicated via My SAPS Application. All information received will be treated with strict confidentiality,” the report said.
