Cape Town – A German tourist visiting Cape Town was reportedly airlifted to safety after falling on Lion’s Head Mountain while trying to retrieve an item dropped by another hiker.
“He was scrambling down below the trail when he slipped and fell approximately 6m, sustaining injuries to his left leg,” News24 quoted Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) as saying.
The incident happened on Sunday.

“A medical team hiked to the patient and the Western Cape department of health emergency helicopter was called out. The patient was hoisted from the scene in a stretcher and flown to a nearby landing zone, where he was transferred to a waiting ambulance,” Times Live said.
The patient was delivered to hospital.
