Cape Town – Gauteng celebrated the birth of 184 Christmas Day babies, with Home Affairs Deputy Minister Njabulo Nzuza and provincial officials joining parents at Tembisa Hospital to present hampers to the new families.
Gauteng Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko expressed her joy and empathy for the mothers, highlighting the excitement and emotional moments of the occasion.
“Congratulations to all the families. We would also like to encourage parents to ensure their bundles of joy are immunised at specified dates set out on the road to health care booklet to protect them against diseases…,” Nkomo-Ralehoko said.

Meanwhile, the Western Cape welcomed 18 Christmas babies, with the first girl born at Paarl Hospital weighing 3.26 kg.
Both provinces praised the hard work of medical staff in ensuring the safe arrival of the babies.
