Cape Town – An unemployed, sports-loving father has won over R1.7 million in the Sportstake 8 jackpot with just a R10 ticket.
He plans to use the money to start a business that will provide long-term financial stability for his family.
Calling the win a dream come true, he kept his winning ticket safe in his Bible until he could claim it.
“I couldn’t believe I had won so much money from a game I love (with) only a R10 ticket. I kept my ticket safely tucked inside my Bible until I could claim it,” he said.
The jackpot came at a perfect time for the winner, who shared heartfelt thanks for the life-changing opportunity. He intends to invest the prize money into launching a business that will ensure lasting financial security and support for his family.
“I’m grateful for the chance to build a better future for my loved ones,” he said.
Ithuba, the lottery operator, confirmed the win and congratulated him on his good fortune and sports knowledge.
