Cape Town – Four people were reportedly treated for smoke inhalation following a fire that started at a pizza shop on Doctor Pixley Kaseme Street in Durban.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning, reported IOL.
The fire started at the popular pizza shop on the ground floor and smoke spread to the above residential building, the report said.
According to eThekwini Fire Department Acting Divisional Commander, Sifiso Mtshali, a faulty gas cooker was suspected to have caused the fire but an investigation would be conducted.

TimesLIVE reported that four people received emergency medical care after the block of flats caught alight.
“The patients were in a stable condition and have been transported to hospital for continued medical care. It is believed that the fire has been extinguished. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage,” the report quoted KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services spokesperson, Robert McKenzie.
