Cape Town – FlySafair has condemned the inappropriate sexual behaviour of a couple on a flight from Johannesburg to Durban on Monday.
Reports said FlySafair has since banned the couple following the alleged indecent act.
News24 reported that a Durban businessman witnessed a woman sitting next to him in the flight reach over to touch her partner’s crotch.
“In short, a [woman] sitting next to me was giving [the] male passenger a handjob whilst on the runway waiting to take off,” the passenger said.
He said the indecent act carried on for a while with the couple kissing before he could safely leave his seat to lay a compliant. “This continued while the plane took off … I felt sick.

“A soon as we could leave the seat, I jumped out of mine and ran towards the back to make the air hostesses aware and show them the videos I had taken to prove it was really taking place,” the report quoted the passenger as saying.
According to the passenger a flight attendant “apologised immediately” and he was given another seat; however the businessman was “shocked and now angry nothing further took place”, the report said.
FlySafair’s chief marketing officer, Kirby Gordon, said the company condemned the lewd and indecent acts, IOL reported.
“We reserve the right of admission on our flights and we’ve taken the action of banning these individuals from any future flights with us. We’ve cancelled any future bookings and set their details on our systems so that no future reservations will be accepted,” Gordon said.
He added that for the police to get involved, the passenger who witnessed the sexual act needed to lay charges against the couple and FlySafair would support those charges with required information.
