Northern Cape — Five people have arrested for allegedly submitting fraudulent grade 12 certificates when applying for police posts..
According to police spokesperson Brigadier Mashay Gamieldien, members of the provincial human resource management recruitment division questioned the authenticity of the documents and approached the Department of Education and Umalusi to verify the certificates.
“The case was referred to the provincial anti-corruption unit, which led to the apprehension and arrest of five persons including two females and three males. The suspects appeared in the Kimberley Magistrates Court on 07 March 2023.”
Northern Cape police warned the public that they “will not tolerate such dishonest actions when it comes to applying for employment in the organisation”.
