Cape Town – One person has tragically died in the Kouga municipality in the Eastern Cape due to springtide and severe weather conditions over the weekend.
According to Times Live, the municipality reported the discovery of a body on Aston Bay beach and is investigating the possibility of additional fatalities, but details about the deceased and the incident remain undisclosed.
Residents have been cautioned against using the Swart River causeway, which connects Aston Bay and Paradise Beach, even as floodwaters recede.
“Though the water may subside, the surface of the causeway must be inspected before it can be opened for traffic again,” the statement read.
