Cape Town – A sergeant from the Tembisa police station and his wife were tragically found dead in their bedroom in Moganyaka village, outside Groblersdal, in Sekhukhune, Limpopo.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the couple was discovered with gunshot wounds, and the presumed murder weapon was located at the crime scene.
Their 20-year-old son made the grim discovery.
“According to the information, on Saturday 14 October 2023 in the morning at about 07:30 the police responded to a complaint of a shooting incident. Upon arrival they discovered two lifeless bodies of a married couple in a pool of blood in their bedroom and a firearm next to the deceased man.
“It is reported that a 41-year-old man and his wife, 37, had a heated argument while they were in their bedroom. This happened in the evening of Friday 13 October 2023 at about 21:00.
“It is further alleged that the following morning on Saturday 14 October their son, 20-year-old, decided to go home. On arrival at home he found both his mother and father lying in a pool of blood,” said Ledwaba.
The sergeant was on leave when the incident occurred.
The motive behind the incident remain unknown.
Limpopo’s police commissioner appealed to couples and families to seek professional help when dealing with domestic-related problems to prevent such tragic outcomes.
