ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has announced Tseletsele’s suspension and initiation of disciplinary proceedings.
In an interview with 947’s Anele Mdoda on Thursday, Kalebe revealed that he had a conversation with Tseletsele the previous day.
“Just yesterday [Wednesday], we had a conversation, and he genuinely apologised. I accepted the apology because, as a Christian, I believe in second chances,” said Kalebe.
Kalebe shared that Tseletsele clarified the situation regarding being prompted to act confrontationally.
“He explained that he allowed his emotions to take control, and some individuals around him influenced his actions.”
According to EWN, Tseletsele, also the youth league provincial chair, claims he is being targeted to hinder his ambitions of becoming a member of the executive council (MEC) in the Free State.
Some within the party accuse Mbalula of thwarting Tseletsele’s MEC aspirations, the report said.
