Cape Town – Mokoena Petrus Nhlapo, 42, of Free State was reportedly sentenced to life on Tuesday after raping 15 women whom he lured via Facebook with promises of jobs and pretending to be a successful businessman.
According to News24, Nhlapo had been posing as a successful businessman on Facebook since 2015. He lured his victims with job promises.
He set up offices in different places where he conducted fake interviews with his victims before raping them.
At some point, he recorded a sex video with one of his victims then posted it on his Facebook account.
This encouraged other victims to open rape cases against him.
IOL reported that Nhlapo was arrested on June 1, 2018, and was remanded in custody until he was sentenced on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
