Cape Town – Former South African Airways (SAA) board chairperson Dudu Myeni and former Sondolo IT director Trevor Mathenjwa were been granted R10 000 bail each by the Richards Bay magistrate’s court.
They were arrested on Friday morning
They face charges of corruption and fraud, with the case involving alleged gratifications received from state capture-accused Bosasa and its subsidiary Sondolo IT, totaling around R300 000, Times Live reported.
Myeni, a close associate of former president Jacob Zuma, is accused of failing to disclose her interests as per SAA’s conflict-of-interest policy during her tenure.

She is alleged to have received security upgrades for her property and benefited from hotel accommodation and travel expenses from Bosasa during May 2014 to March 2015, amounting to over R107 000, the report said.
Myeni and Mathenjwa are scheduled to appear in court again on November 17.

According to IOL, Myeni is also accused of orchestrating meetings between Zuma and Bosasa CEO Gavin Watson, as well as obstructing investigations into Bosasa. She reportedly assured that the National Prosecuting Authority would cease its case against the company.
The Commission verified Myeni’s substantial influence on Zuma, enabling meetings with firms such as Falcon Oil and Gas while violating the Constitution and anti-corruption laws.
