Limpopo – A 30-year-old foreign national was apprehended by Limpopo police on Sunday, February 16, 2025, following the discovery of stolen copper cables and aluminum scrap in a truck he was driving.
The arrest occurred at approximately 09:30 near Esja on the N1 north of Polokwane.

Eskom officials, who were summoned to the scene, confirmed the copper cables as their property.
“A 30-year-old foreign national was arrested for possession of suspected stolen copper cables and aluminium pieces.
“The suspect will appear on the 18 February 2025 in Polokwane Magistrate’s Court,” said Thakeng.
