Cape Town — Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) MP, Naledi Chirwa, has come out in support of Miss South Africa finalist, Chidimma Adetshina, who is in the spotlight over her nationality.
Many people across South Africa and social media felt that Adetshina should not be eligible to compete in the Miss SA pageant, as she was born to a Nigeran father and a South African mother with Mozambican roots.
As a result, they approached Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture – Gayton McKenzie – to delve deeper into the matter.
“I will definitely get more information, we truly cannot have Nigerians compete in our Miss SA competition. I want to get all the facts before I comment, but it gives funny vibes already,” McKenzie said on X.
I just returned from Paris and will definitely get more information tomorrow, we truly cannot have Nigerians compete in our Miss SA competition. I wanna get all facts before I comment but it gives funny vibes already. https://t.co/KQ6K0MT6aG

IOL reported that McKenzie is infamous for his phrase, abahambe which translates to “the foreigners must go” and he’s been outspoken on his stance over deporting illegal foreigners back to their home countries. McKenzie had been pushing for the Minister of Home Affairs position before his election to Sports Minister.
Chirwa responded to McKenzie’s X post and criticised him for being unpatriotic and illiterate in South African politics, which may align with his criminal career in the past.
“You are not ‘patriotic’ at all. You do not know the South African Constitution. You do not respect the South African governance office at the executive level. You do not know South African history. You do not know South African statistics on anything, not even your favourite subject,” Chirwa said.
She added that McKenzie has no respect for South African laws and said he remained quiet over current Home Affairs Minister, Leon Schreiber, being a Zimbabwean.
“You do not respect South African laws, and this is not historic. Even today, you do not stand with SA when we stand with Palestine. Just bigotry. You have got all the time to take on a black woman but hide behind a*s when questioned about the white minister of Home Affairs (Schreiber). Hate weak men,” Chirwa added.

You don’t respect SAn laws… and this isn’t historic. Even today. You don’t stand with SA when we stand with Palestine. Just bigotry. You’ve got all the time to take on a Black SAn woman but hid behind ass when questioned about the white Minister of Home Affairs. Hate weak men.
