Cape Town – A Durban man is reportedly under police guard in hospital following the death of his wife on Valentine’s Day.
The man believed to be in his 50s is accused of strangling his wife and then trying to drown her in the pool at their home in Jameson Crescent in Umbilo, reports said.
Berea Mail initially reported that a man and woman in their 50s were involved in a drowning incident and the woman was declared dead at the scene while the man sustained injuries.
However, new details have now emerged, alleging that the woman was strangled and drowned by a man reportedly her husband, who was also found injured at the scene, the report said.
