Cape Town – Two police officers in Mbombela, Mpumalanga were reportedly assaulted and robbed of their service pistols while patrolling on Wednesday this week.
According to IOL, the officers noticed a suspicious red VW Polo without a rear number plate.
They approached the vehicle and noticed that there were three male occupants. The officers pulled over the vehicle and began a search.
Upon their search, they noticed that the driver had been consuming alcohol. That was when the suspects attempted to bribe the officers who refused and instead continued with the arrest.
During the process, one of the suspects reportedly fired a shot, barely missing the police officer who ducked and laid on the ground.
