Cape Town – A BMW driver is reportedly on the run after crashing into nine people and killing three children in Salvokop area of Pretoria on Saturday.
Six other people including a nine-month pregnant woman were rushed to nearby hospitals with moderate to serious injuries, reports said.
According to Emer-G-Med who attended to the scene, twin four-year-old girls and another four-year-old little girl died at the scene.
“On arrival on scene a BMW sedan was found to have left the roadway, striking seven pedestrians and killing three of them.
“Twin four-year-old sisters were found killed as well as a third four-year-old little girl,” Emer-G-Med said in a statement.
The driver allegedly fled the scene following the collision, the statement said.
According to City of Tshwane Emergency Services Department’s spokesperson Thabo Charles Mabaso, two women including a nine-months pregnant woman, were transported to the Steve Biko Academic Hospital with moderate to serious injuries, reported News24.
“Four other patients were also transported to hospital with minor to moderate injuries. The scene was handed over to the SAPS for further handling and investigations,” Mabaso was quoted saying in the report.
