Cape Town – Police detectives are searching for suspects involved in a double murder of two males, and an attempted murder of one female that took place early on Friday morning, December 9 outside Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli said police discovered the two bodies after gunshots were reported.
“It is alleged that at about 03:30, police were summoned to a complaint of shooting at the Mdantsane Access Road outside Mdantsane. At the scene, two male bodies, who are believed were traveling in a silver VW polo were found with gunshot wounds in the upper body. A woman who was a passenger in the same vehicle was rushed to hospital with minor injuries,” Nkohli said.

“It is further alleged that the passengers in two vehicles, a white Ford bakkie and a silver VW Polo were involved in the shooting. At this stage, the details are sketchy,” the officer added.
Police found one unlicensed firearm with ammunition from one of the deceased persons at the scene. Preliminary investigations reportedly revealed that a recovered firearm was stolen in Beacon Bay three years ago. The names of the deceased persons will be withheld until family relatives identify their bodies.
Police opened a case of murder (two counts) and a charge of attempted murder for further investigation, and urged anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the nearest police station. The information may also be shared via Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.
