Cape Town – The death toll from a violent confrontation between police and a heavily armed gang of cash-in-transit (CIT) robbers in Limpopo has now reached 19.
Initially, police reported 18 suspects killed, but while processing the scene, they discovered another body.
The incident occurred when police raided a luxury villa in Makhado and encountered gunfire from the suspected CIT robbers, resulting in a shootout.

Along with the casualties, the police also found three vehicles believed to be stolen from Gauteng, including a Ford Ranger, a VW Tiguan, and a Mercedes Benz ML, EWN reported.
One of the officers involved in the operation had to have his leg amputated due to injuries sustained during the shootout, but he is in stable condition.
