Cape Town – South Africa has recorded 8 515 new Covid-19 cases, the National Department of Health said on Monday, under the latest review cycle.
At least 28 520 tests were conducted, with 29.9% positivity rate.
According to the department, 105 Covid-19-related deaths were reported, taking the total number of fatalities to 90 453 and bringing the country’s cumulative number of Covid-19 cases to 3 316 585.
“As of today the cumulative number of #COVID19 cases identified in SA is 3 316 585 with 8 515 new cases reported. Today 105 deaths have been reported bringing the total to 90 453 deaths. The cumulative number of recoveries now stand at 3 026 285 with a recovery rate of 91.2%,” the department said in a statement.

KwaZulu-Natal continued to account for the majority of cases, with 2 496 new infections, followed by Gauteng (1 890) and the Western Cape (1 625).
