Cape Town – South Africa recorded 6 762 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of cases in the country to 3 540 891 since the start of the pandemic, the National Department of Health said on Wednesday.
A further 181 Covid-19 related deaths wer reported, bringing total fatalities to 92 830 to date, the department said.
“As of today the cumulative number of #Covid-19 cases identified in SA is 3 540 891 with 6 762 new cases reported. Today 181 deaths have been reported bringing the total to 92 830 deaths. The cumulative number of recoveries now stand at 3 309 735 with a recovery rate of 93.5%,” said the health department in a statement.
