Cape Town – South Africa recorded 4 482 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of cases in the country to 3 526 054 since the start of the pandemic, the National Department of Health said on Sunday.
As per the Department of Health, a further 82 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 92 453 to date.
“As of today the cumulative number of #COVID19 cases identified in SA is 3 526 054 with 4 482 new cases reported. Today 82 deaths have been reported bringing the total to 92 453 deaths. The cumulative number of recoveries now stand at 3 286 952 with a recovery rate of 93.2%,” said the health department in a statement.

According to the National Institute For Communicable Diseases (NICD), 25 430tests were conducted with a positivity rate of 17.6%.
The Western Cape has recorded 1 150 infections, followed by KwaZulu-Natal with 1 037 cases and Gauteng 966.
