Cape Town – South Africa has recorded 3 782 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3 417 318 since the start of the pandemic, the National Department of Health said on Monday.
This increase represents a 22.2% positivity rate, with 21 076 433 tests conducted in both private and public hospitals.
At least 15 Covid-related deaths were reported, bringing total fatalities to 90 829.
“As of today the cumulative number of #COVID19 cases identified in SA is 3 417 318 with 3 782 new cases reported. Today 15 deaths have been reported bringing the total to 90 829 deaths. The cumulative number of recoveries now stand at 3 120 012 with a recovery rate of 91,3%,” the department said in a statement.

KwaZulu-Natal accounted for the majority of cases, with 1 007 new infections, followed by Gauteng (841), Western Cape (645).
At the least was Northern Cape, with just 66 new cases.
