Cape Town – The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has continued its crackdown on fraud and corruption, with the recent dismissal of six officials for various offences.
This brings the total number of dismissals since July 2024 to 33.
“Home Affairs has fired another 6 officials for various acts of fraud and corruption, bringing the total dismissals since July 2024 to 33. Eight convictions have been secured with prison sentences between 4 and 18 years, with another 19 prosecutions underway. Cleaning up!,” Minister of Home Affairs Leon Schreiber said in statement.
“The speed at which Home Affairs, in collaboration with the SIU, is clearing out corruption from our midst demonstrates that swift progress can be made in the fight against this scourge,” he added.

Alongside these dismissals, six other officials were issued final written warnings.
