Cape Town – A four-month-old baby girl, Lalicia Magumbu, was allegedly abducted by two women who posed as caregivers in Kriel, Mpumalanga on Thursday.
The incident occurred when the women approached Lalicia’s mother at her home, promising to donate food for the baby.
“According to information, the women approached Lalicia Magumbu’s mother at her home in Thubelihle outside Kriel and promised to donate food for the baby,” police spokesperson Brig Selvy Mohlala said.
“The two are said to have indicated that before they could donate, they needed to take the child to the clinic for immunisation.”

However, the baby was not returned, and the family reported the incident to the police.
According to the family, the baby was wearing a pink babygrow
Authorities have urged the community to help find Lalicia and reunite her with her mother
Police are urging anyone with information about Lalicia’s location to contact the Kriel police at 082-798-0723 or use the Crime Stop number 08600-10111 to provide assistance.
