Cape Town – Police have welcomed the 48-year sentence handed to Enrique Williams in the Western Cape High court for the murder of a six-year-old girl in August 2019.
According to a police statement, the girl was shot in the forehead by a bullet that was meant for her uncle while she was playing in front of her home in Grindle Avenue, Lavender Hill.
The shooter was reportedly supposed to carry out a hit on the girl’s uncle.

She was rushed to a medical facility but sadly succumbed to her wounds.
The 23-year-old accused was arrested along with two other suspects who were later acquitted, police said.
“Following a comprehensive investigation by Detective Sergeant Marc Lucas of Steenberg detectives, the accused was convicted on four counts and sentenced to 25 years direct imprisonment for murder, 12 years for attempted murder, eight years for illegal possession of a semi-automatic firearm and three years for illegal possession of ammunition,” said police spokesperson, Ndakhe Gwala.
