Cape Town – Police have registered a murder case for investigation after a 25-year-old female, Lauren Kennedy was shot and fatally wounded on Friday morning in De Braak Close, Belhar.
According to police spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, Belhar police were called to the crime scene where they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the head.
“The victim was declared deceased on the scene by paramedics. The motive for the attack is unknown. The suspect/s fled the scene and are yet to be arrested,” he said.
IOL reports that the woman was accompanied by her boyfriend. They were reportedly walking two children to school.

Local councillor, Delmaine Cottee expressed his concern at the shootings.
“Shootings in Belhar are getting out of hand, daily shootings, with innocent victims dying on daily basis,” he said.
